Placing a Backorder

About Backorders
A backorder is used to attempt to register a domain that has already expired and is about to be released to the general public. A backorder can be submitted for any domain, but only domains in our Pending Delete Domains list will be attempted. You can find the Pending Delete Domains List on the Auctions page.

Placing a Backorder

  1. Login to your Sav account.
  2. Navigate to the My Backorders page.
  3. In the field below Add Backorders, enter one domain per line.
  4. You will see this domain appear in your Active Backorder Requests list.
  5. There is no fee to place backorders, so add as many as you want!
  6. You will receive an email confirming the domains to backorder and what the current registration prices for captured domains are. These prices can change over time.

When a Backorder is Caught

  • If you are the only user who has backordered the domain, your account will be charged for the Backorder price of the domain, and it will be added to your account in a few hours.
  • If multiple users backordered the domain, an auction will be started, all users will be notified via email, and the user who placed the backorder first will be given the starting bid.
Tip
Before you place a backorder, make sure you have a valid payment method added to your account. If you have added a payment method to your account but are still receiving an error, make sure you have clicked "Update" under the Payment Method to save it.
